Local Picks - Things To Do in Marrakech

This isn’t a list that’s been spun out by algorithms or paid promotions. These Local Picks come directly from Marrakech residents who know the city well, the people who wake up here every day and notice the small details visitors often miss.

You’ll find ideas from strolling through Mellah’s old Jewish quarter at dusk, to sitting down for a quiet mint tea in one of Gueliz’s lesser-known cafés. We pull together picks that feel real and approachable, things that locals actually do when they want to unwind or soak up the city outside the usual tourist spots. Keep in mind, Marrakech can change with the seasons, so some recommendations suit cooler months, like wandering the Majorelle Garden before the afternoon heat; others might be best earlier in the day.

One tip? Try visiting the Saadian Tombs early morning. The light is softer, the crowds are lighter, and it gives you a moment of calm that’s tough to find elsewhere.
