We had a lovely dinner here at the start of our group trip with Intrepid! The food was incredible, the mix of salads at the starter was so fresh and flavourful, I got the chicken Tagine which is cooked with lemons and olives it was falling off the bone it was so delicious. For dessert we had this layered puff pastry that was light and airy and of course some mint tea to end the meal! The decor and the ambiance are wonderful. I definitely recommend!
What a fantastic find, a real gem hidden inside the ancient Medina! A wonderful experience of Moroccan hospitality, cuisine and culture! Service was exceptional, food was as delicious and live music added a nice touch!
First dinner in Casablanca, actually first dinner in Morocco. We are with the intrepid tour company so they brought us here. It has a nice atmosphere for the tourists but the food was okay. I'm not new to Moroccan food and I've had eat better than what they served us but it was fine. We started with a big plate of cold mezze that included, potatoes, carrots, eggplant, beets, pumpkin etc. It was served with pita bread. Then we ordered individual tagines. Mostly everyone got the fish but I got chicken which I thought was superior. I also got the lemon, ginger and mint juice which was nice. We ended with a large crispy layer of crispy pastry with sugar and orange blossom and almonds. It was fine. All in all an okay experience.
Lovely atmosphere, the food is good with lots of local variety and options. It's a huge restaurant from inside spanning three floors. They have live folk dance and music. If in Casablanca 100per recommend to visit this place.
I had a pleasant dining experience at Restaurant Dar El Kaid, and the visit offered a good balance between traditional Moroccan flavors and a comfortable dining environment. I started with the harira, which was warm, flavorful, and nicely seasoned. While it was enjoyable, it didn’t particularly stand out compared to other places offering the same classic dish. The bastilla, however, was excellent—the pastry was perfectly crispy, and the filling of chicken and almonds was generous, aromatic, and well-balanced between sweet and savory. It was easily the highlight of the meal. I also ordered a lemon-ginger drink, which was refreshing and well prepared, with a clean citrus profile and just the right touch of ginger. A perfect palate cleanser after the richness of the bastilla. The ambience of the restaurant is a strong point. The décor, lighting, and overall atmosphere create a relaxed and authentic Moroccan dining experience. It’s a place where you can sit back, enjoy your meal, and take in the setting without feeling rushed. Pricing is on the higher side, especially when compared to similar restaurants in the area, but the presentation, ambience, and overall experience do help justify it. Overall, Dar El Kaid is a solid choice for anyone looking to enjoy Moroccan classics in a calm and pleasant environment. I would return again, especially for the bastilla.
