MO MO Marrakech was a very pleasant surprise. The restaurant is right on Jemaa el-Fnaa, in the heart of Marrakech, with a really nice rooftop and an equally attractive interior. They’ve clearly put a lot of work into making the space feel contemporary while still keeping that unmistakable Marrakech atmosphere. I went with very low expectations, convinced I was about to end up in one of those Instagram-driven tourist traps. Instead, the atmosphere, the staff and the food made the evening genuinely enjoyable. Don’t go expecting Michelin-star dining, but if you’re in the mood for a good salad, some mezze and a relaxed rooftop atmosphere overlooking one of Marrakech’s most iconic spots, MO MO is actually a very solid choice. Sometimes Instagram gets it right. PS: they don’t accept bookings.
I feel like people have reviewed this place more for the way it looks rather than how the food tastes. Place was really good looking and had a nice vibe going through & through, but the food was not nice at all. Nothing seemed fresh. The tagine definitely wasnt anything like a traditional tagine & seemed like it has been cooking for days. So dry, was like cardboard, hoummous also was dry & yehh food was just not fresh at all. Would definitely never recommend 👎🏼
Stunning cafe right next to Jemaa el fnaa. Beautifully decorated, very chic with amazing food. Food was incredible! I opted for the beetroot and feta carapaccio and the cauliflower risotto which was my favorite. Dishes are packed full of flavour and service is quick! Well worth a visit!
The Tajine was almost cold, likely precooked and just warmed up but not long enough (plate hot but food not). Taste was OK, nothing special, small portions, rather expensive. The waiter noted down wishes for the salad and what to leave out but they completely ignored it. We ordered some Mezze before, we had to remind them about the bread as they forgot. It seems like a classic tourist place, with tourist quality and tourist prices. The view is great, you can oversee the place and all the people and the AC gives comfort. OK for a drink but wouldn’t go there for eating again.
We absolutely loved MoMo Marrakech. We ended up coming here twice for lunch during our trip because it was just that good. The service was consistently reliable, and the food never disappointed. The Kofta and grilled sardines were our favorites. If you arrive right when they open, it’s easy to secure a spot on the rooftop which is definitely worth it for the beautiful views over Jemaa el-Fna. Out of all the trendy restaurants we tried in Marrakech, this one was our favorite. The combination of great food, dependable service, and the colorful atmosphere made it stand out from the rest. Highly recommend!
