Description
Day 1:Marrakech - Tizi -n-Tichka - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley/Gorges:(6 hour drive). This shared desert tour from Marrakech to Fes will begin in the morning with pickup from your hotel or the nearest accessible point to your Riad. After going through the Marrakech areas, tiny towns, and various fields, we will begin to gain height in order to reach the High Atlas mountains via Tichka pass at 2260m. Many photo stops and stretching breaks will be made before the terrain changes radically as you approach Kasbah the of Ait Ben Haddou. This UNESCO-listed town is one of Morocco's most visited monuments. It is well-known for having been - and still is - used in a number of Hollywood epics (Game of Thrones, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, and etc...) f you wish, you can hire a local guide (optional) for a village tour before heading to a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon we will continue to the Dades Valley passing through Ouarzazate, the oasis of Skoura and Klaa Mgouna, the latter city is famous for its plantation of Damascus roses and its distillation. The route between Ouarzazate and Dades is also known as 'The road of 1001 kasbahs'. Upon arrival in Boumalen Dades, you will take a secondary road to pass the amazing landscapes of the Dades River, with various fortified Berber villages in the backdrop. Day 2:Dades Gorges - Tenghir - Todra Gorges - Tinjdad - Erfoud - Merzouga(Night in desert) :(4 hour drive). After enjoying your breakfast, get ready for an amazing journey that will be the highlight of your shared tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert. Your next stop will be at the oasis of Tinghir where you will have the opportunity to stroll along the stream in the shade of date palms. The walk will take you to the majestic cliffs of the Gorges of Toudra where you will have the opportunity to take some photos and enjoy the silence.You will continue to Rissani passing through various small towns, oases and ksoura (fortified villages). From here you can see the pink sand dunes approaching on the horizon. Upon arrival to Merzouga, you will meet your caravan and begin a one-hour camel ride over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes marveling at one of the best sunset views. You will continue your camel trek to your camp in the Sahara desert. A delicious Moroccan dinner will be served in the evening at your Bedouin camp and your nomadic hosts will entertain you around the campfire with their drums under the crystal clear sky. Overnight at your Merzouga desert camp. Day 3:Camel Trek back to Merzouga – Ouarzazate - Tichka pass2260m - Marrakech. Following an early-morning stroll before breakfast to enjoy sunrise among the sand dunes (optional), ride your camel back to Merzouga and meet your driver for the start of your return journey to Marrakech. Stop for lunch in Ouarzazate, then head onward through the spectacular scenery of the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive back at your Marrakech accommodation in the mid-evening to conclude your tour.Includes
