Meet your TukTuk driver at the Koutoubia Mosque for introductions nearby this 12th century wonder. The 2hour scenic ride on this fun vehicle will take us along the city ramparts & fortified gates. We'll pass by the Gueliz quarter, contrasting with the historic parts of town, Souk El Khemis flea market & zig-zag through the old city on your motorized rickshaw. Several halts along the way for photos & discoveries (flexible drivers). Our first major stop will be at the Photography Museum (45min): set in a Riad now home to a collection of over 10,000 treasures exhibited around various themes. These archives on Morocco & Africa dating from 1879 to 1960 include portraits, street scenes, moments of daily life, landscapes & even a projection of the first color film ever recorded in Morocco (1957); Landscapes & Faces of the High Atlas. Aerial photos of the city & photography tools and techniques are also exposed in a section of the small museum. This unmissable gem illustrates local history & culture through the passionate eyes of international photographers that fell in love with Morocco! Pause at the café-terrace with a view of the medina rooftops & High Atlas Mountains or visit the boutique filled with paper prints, original postcards, etc... Meet back your TukTuk to head deeper into the old city via the labyrinth of handicrafts souks towards the trendy Dar El Pacha neighborhood. The ride will end at the Secret Garden. Your driver will provide the tickets/entrance fee & say goodbye. Visit this botanical garden dating back to the 1500s when a Royal dynasty founded a palace district that later fell into disrepair. The garden since ceased to be maintained until 2016. After a restoration, it reopened for the public. Today it's divided into an exotic & islamic garden. The first is filled with flora from all over the world, recalling the experimental aspect of the great gardens of Marrakech... a rose among palm trees. The other, with a more Mediterranean style follows a symmetrical layout. An oasis of peace inspired from heaven as narrated in the Quran but designed to facilitate irrigation. Discover the complex irrigation system & story of the site via various exhibits, video and much more. Visit at leisure (1 hour), possibility to have drinks or a meal at the terrace or patio restaurants famous for their fresh juices & cold beer, a rare luxury in the medina. Only 15min walk from Jamaa ElFna Square. Vehicles used for this tour were first imported from Asia and are ideal for the maze of narrow streets. Launched by associations to support locals with disabilities to transport travelers. This helped them own these tuk tuks which are based on motorcycles to reintegrate active life and provide an income for them & their families! These moto-taxis are very well adapted to hot countries as they are not fully enclosed. The colorful Tuk-Tuks of Marrakech have an open frame body resting on 3 wheels, a canvas roof with drop-down side curtains & a small cabin.
