Description

Explore Essaouira, a small town on the Atlantic coast of Morocco known for its relaxed atmosphere and artisan community. See the French influence in the city in the grid-like layout of the city. Walk along the seaside ramparts admiring the cannons, or wander through the fishing port and enjoy the daily catch of sardines or other local seafood for lunch. Visit the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Listed city, renowned for its cabinet-making and wood-carving. Artisans here use the roots of the Tetraclinis tree, local to this area. For a more active day you can take a quad or dromedary tour, and if you enjoy being on the water, Essaouira, with its strong winds, is perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
