Finding Japanese food in Marrakech might not be the obvious choice but there are some genuinely tasty places worth checking out.

If you’re staying near Gueliz, you’ll find spots where they take sushi seriously, not just in appearance but in freshness too. I've been to Sushi Bar, a small spot that doesn’t try to overdo it, serving clean, simple rolls and really good miso soup. It can get busy, especially in the evenings. And during spring, the garden terrace there is a nice change from the city’s usual heat.

On the other hand, if you want ramen, check out Umami Marrakech. It’s a bit tucked away off the main streets, but their broth has a richness you don’t expect in the medina’s food scene. Tip: go early to avoid the dinner rush. It’s a favorite for locals craving something soupy and satisfying that isn’t tagine.
