Description
From Rocky Desert to Mountain Valleys:
You leave Marrakech in the morning and cross the Agafay Desert just south of the city. The landscape shifts from open city plain to bare, mineral hills, with the Atlas range rising in the distance.
A scenic stop at Lalla Takerkoust Lake follows, with wide views over the water and the mountains beyond.
Kik Plateau and a Berber Home:
The drive continues up to the Kik Plateau, on quiet tracks above wheat fields and small farming villages. You stop at a Berber home for mint tea and fresh village bread, a simple moment that breaks the journey.
Imlil, the heart of Toubkal Park:
You arrive in Imlil, the main village of Toubkal National Park. From here, you can walk for about an hour to Aroumd along an orchard path, or continue by 4x4 if you prefer not to hike to the foot of the village.
Lunch is a Berber tagine with Moroccan salads and homemade bread, served at a village home with views over the valley.
Return via the Haouz plains:
After lunch, you head down a gentle path back to Imlil and meet your driver for the return to Marrakech through the wide Haouz plains.
