Description
Located near the village of Tanaghmeilt in Azilal Province, approximately 150 km northeast of Marrakech, the Ouzoud Waterfalls drop around 110 meters, making them one of North Africa’s highest waterfalls. The site offers a peaceful setting with lush greenery contrasting the usual arid landscapes of Morocco.
Your day begins with an 8:00 am pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Travel comfortably in an air-conditioned minibus through the Atlas Mountains, passing olive groves, mud-brick Berber villages, and rural farmland. This scenic journey introduces Morocco’s varied landscapes and culture.
Upon arrival, you will have about four hours to explore. Walk along marked paths with panoramic viewpoints, capture photographs, and listen to the sound of the cascading water. Watch for Barbary macaques among the olive trees. During warmer months, swimming in the natural pools is possible. Lunch is available at local restaurants overlooking the falls; traditional Moroccan dishes and mint tea are offered (not included in the price).
A boat ride can be booked to approach the waterfalls closely, providing a unique view and experience of the cascading water.
The return trip to Marrakech begins in the late afternoon, arriving at your accommodation by 6:00 pm.
