Description
Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Fes to Merzouga, stopping at Ifrane, an alpine-style town known for its ski slopes. Continue to the Middle Atlas Mountains to visit cedar forests where you can observe and feed Barbary monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, travel through the lush Ziz Valley and stop in Erfoud before arriving in Merzouga.
Upon arrival, store your luggage at the hotel, then embark on a 45-minute camel trek to watch the sunset over the dunes. Spend the night at a desert camp in nomad-style tents with dinner under the stars.
The next morning, wake early to walk across the dunes and see the sunrise near the Algerian border. On the return trip to Fes, visit the Ziz Valley again and stop for lunch before your drop-off at your hotel or nearest accessible point.
