Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at 7:30 AM from your hotel or riad in Fes. The journey begins with a stop in Ifrane, known for its Alpine-style architecture from the French colonial era. Next, pass through cedar forests in the Middle Atlas Mountains, home to diverse flora and Barbary macaques.
Continue driving through the forested Atlas peaks and mountain streams before reaching Midelt for a lunch break. Afterward, head south to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, part of the vast Algerian Sahara.
Embark on a camel trek across the desert dunes to a traditional Berber desert camp. Witness the desert sunset during your ride, then enjoy dinner paired with traditional Berber music under the stars. Overnight is spent in a desert tent surrounded by sand dunes.
Day 2: Wake early to watch the sunrise paint the sand dunes with natural colors. After breakfast at the camp, ride a camel back to Merzouga. From there, return to Fes by air-conditioned vehicle, stopping for lunch, coffee breaks, and photos in the High Atlas Mountains, including a visit to the cedar forest to see the monkeys.
