Description
This three-day desert trip starts on the Atlantic coast in Agadir and goes through some of the most beautiful scenery in Morocco's south. It ends in the lively city of Marrakech, which is surrounded by dunes of gold. Start your trip early and head toward the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Along the way, stop by the UNESCO-listed town of Ait Ben Haddou, which is known for its earthen kasbahs and history in movies. Before you get to Tinghir, where you'll spend the first night, keep going through Ouarzazate and the Dades Valley. On Day 2, you can experience the stunning Todra Gorges, which are known for their high cliffs. Then go to Merzouga Desert, where horses are waiting to take you over the dunes at sunset. Stay the night in a desert camp under the stars and enjoy food and Berber music. On the last day, get up early to see the sunrise, then take a 4x4 or a camel back to Marrakech through the Draa Valley and the High Atlas Mountains.
