Journey from Marrakech to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara dessert and to Zagora in the lush Draa Valley on this 2-day tour. See ancient Berber villages and discover the rich history of the fortifications at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Explore the unmatched beauty of the Moroccan desert from the heights of the Atlas Mountains, to lush Draa Valley, and across the wind-swept sand of Saharan dunes. Day 1: Begin at 7:20 am as you make your way to the High Atlas Mountains, and enjoy breathtaking views of some of the highest elevations in Morocco. Enjoy the rustic charm of old Berber villages. Stop in the middle of the High Atlas Mountains to take pictures, stretch your legs, or have a coffee. Next, venture to the UNESCO World Heritage site Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and after lunch, view the most famous kasbah fortress in Morocco. From here, travel through the Draa Valley, which is known for growing delectable dates. On arrival in Zagora, take a camel ride to a desert camp and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Saharan dunes over dinner. Sleep in comfort under the stars. Day 2: Greet the sun, as your gracious hosts wake you to see the majestic sunrise. After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a second camel ride back to meet your driver. Pass back through the peaks of the High Atlas Mountains and take in the views once more on your way back to Marrakech.
