Jad Mahal Restaurant Marrakech

Decided to go to Jad Mahal based on a friend’s recommendation. The reviews were up and down but we went despite that. I am happy that we did. We got an 8pm reservation and arrived just before 8 and were promptly seated. After being seated and given menus, it took, in my opinion too long for the waiter to return for drinks orders, but after that timing with everything else was as would be expected. When we arrived the restaurant was mostly empty but by 9 there was a good crowd. The proper show started closer to 10pm. The show was very entertaining and had more performances than I’d thought there would be. All were quite entertaining and some of the performances were in the dining room. The food was great all around. The ONLY one small issue was with the lamb chops. The flavour was great BUT the lamb was overcooked. We requested medium but were given well done. So that took away slightly from the dish. Not the end of the world but it would have been nice to get it medium. We did not mention this to the waiter. We had: Crab mille-feuille - 9/10 Crispy King Prawns - 9.5/10 Shrimp Gyoza - 9/10 Grilled Octopus - 9/10 Lamb Chops -7.5/10 (only because they were over done) New York Cheesecake - 9/10 Between the show and the food it was a great night. 9/10.
Loved the atmosphere and the food at Jad Mahal. I tried the Moroccan tasting menu, and all the dishes were well made and very tasty. The show was great and made the evening even more special. The only thing is that it was very dark, so I wish there had been a little more light to see what I was eating 😀 Other than that, everything was perfect!
The food was OUTSTANDING! A lot of the tables-including the one we sat in- didnt have a clear look to the stage and pergfrmances. The food arrived FASHIONABLY late, though it did make up in FANTASTIC flavour!
You will not be disappointed by the vibrant atmosphere and entertainment and excellent service. The food was not bad but wasn’t great, presented well but lacked flavours and for example the Gyozas were cold. The prices may seem expensive but then there is no cover charge for the amazing shows, music and live band. Would recommend totally if visiting Marrakech
Interior is very decorated and beautiful, very warm and cosy. We took the menu which was delicious except too much couscous compared with the meat. Soda drinks are very expensive. The show is nice. If you don’t like the table you got then ask a new one like we did.
