We went to Palace Dar Soukkar for my birthday. They were nice enough to seat us close to the front so we could really enjoy the show, which I appreciated. The show itself was very entertaining and definitely the highlight of the evening. Service throughout dinner was also good. The food, however, was mediocre and the menu was pretty underwhelming. Based on the food, service, and entertainment alone, I probably would have given the experience around 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, what happened as we were leaving completely soured the night. We were offered photos that had been taken of us, selected the ones we liked, and they were printed and brought to our table. We had already closed out our dinner bill and called our taxi, and no one came back to collect payment for the photos before we needed to leave. Since we hadn’t paid for them, we left the photos on the table. A man then chased after us and confronted us about paying for the photos. We explained multiple times that we had left them on the table and were completely willing to pay, but obviously wanted the photos we were being charged for. Instead of simply retrieving them, the situation escalated to the point that security was called. We eventually paid the $35 just to end the argument and be able to leave, yet they couldn’t even find our photos afterward. So we literally paid $35 and walked away with NO PHOTOS. It was such an unnecessary and unpleasant ending to what had otherwise been a decent birthday experience. If you’re going to insist that a guest pay for photographs, especially to the point of chasing them down and involving security, you should at the very least make sure they actually receive what they’re paying for. The show was great and the service was good, but the food was nothing memorable and the way the photo situation was handled felt incredibly shady. Unfortunately, that alone would deter me from visiting again. There are plenty of places to celebrate and enjoy a show without ending your evening like this.
The venue itself is beautifully decorated and looks impressive, but that's unfortunately where the positives end. I'm not sure why they accept reservations so early when the entertainment doesn't really begin until around 9:45 PM. To make matters worse, the intermissions between performances are far too long, leaving you sitting around waiting for the next act instead of being entertained. The cocktails are more about presentation than quality—they taste more like fruit juice than actual alcoholic drinks. Like many other reviews mention, the staff seems incredibly focused on keeping your water glass full, but that's where the service stops. Our food arrived, and it was absolutely inedible. It was some of the worst food I've ever been served at a restaurant, especially at this price point. Not a single staff member came back to ask how the food was, check if everything was okay, or notice that it had barely been touched. For a place charging over 1,000 MAD per person, that level of service is unacceptable. I've received far better service at ordinary restaurants for a fraction of the cost. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because a few of the dance performances were enjoyable. Overall, though, this was not the authentic Moroccan show we were expecting, and the experience simply wasn't worth the price. I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it.
I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing, every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The live show made the evening even more enjoyable and created such a great atmosphere. A special thank you to our waitress, Selma, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. Her friendly attitude and excellent service made us feel truly valued and added so much to our experience. Everything was on point—from the delicious food to the fantastic entertainment and outstanding service. I had a great time and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!
Dar Soukkar offers good food and a unique atmosphere, but the overall experience was mixed. The food was enjoyable, although the menu selection was more limited than expected, especially considering the relatively high prices. For the price level, I would have expected more variety and options. The atmosphere is lively, but the music was excessively loud, making conversation difficult. The constantly changing lights were also distracting and took away from the dining experience. The biggest disappointment was the service. We had to remind the staff multiple times about our order and later about the payment. The service felt unorganized and lacking structure, which made the experience frustrating at times. Overall, it's a place with good food and an interesting concept, but the service, pricing, and atmosphere could be improved to better match expectations.
Simply one of our highlights on our 4 days in Marrakech! The spectacle and the food were all above our expectations. The menu is at 69 € for the menu and trust us... the show was worth it. You can stay as long as you want and enjoy the animations all the way through the night. We stayed 3 hours and didn't feel time fly. Highly recommended! Be wary, the music level may be uncomfortably high...
