It was an amazing experience! Not necessarily because of the quality of the Riad or anything but because of the worker Hamza! He’s amazing!! We arrived at 3 am later because our flight was delayed and craved water! Hamza git up walked 30 minutes and got us water! If you do go there you’re sure to be taken care of! Best worker there Hamza! He not only offers his kindness but is always there to bring g a good mood and a good laugh.
Let’s start with the positives: The hostel has a great location in the Medina, the view from the rooftop is fantastic and the Moroccan breakfast included in the price was delicious. The fellow travelers we’ve encountered were really friendly and easy to connect. But let’s look at the downsides: The hostel is located at the end of a sketchy alleyway (some people might find it uncomfortable). At check in, we (and other people we’ve talked to) were charged around 200 dh more than in the original, stating reasons like taxes and credit card fees. I would even suggest they have a business practice doing that. We weren’t assigned our twin bet room but a normal double, although this wasn’t a problem for us. The biggest problem with the hostel are the sanitary facilities: They are randomly scattered throughout the property, aren’t cleaned properly, are missing toilet paper and the doors of the showers that only feature cold water are broken down. We were forcefully told to leave the rooftop due to nighttime at 23:45 in order to prevent noise even when house rules stated there was no curfew. There was noice in the hostel all night (what is to be expected in my opinion) but we were sent to our room to rot. The hostel definitely has its upsides, but is really run down, is scamming people when paying and treats you like middle school kids when it comes to bedtime. I’ve stayed at many different hostels in the past and this place was unfortunately one of the worst properties so far.
This was the best hostel I’ve ever been to! Yacin, mustapha and hamza were extremely welcoming, friendly, and gave great suggestions for what to see in Marrakesh. Plus, the staff made us a delicious breakfast and sang and danced in the kitchen. We will definitely stay here when we come back to Morocco - for the price it had everything we needed. Thank you for making our stay so special.
This hostel is one of the best hostels I have stayed at. It is very authentic and provides an atmosphere where it is very easy to connect with other travellers. The workers, Badr, Yacin, Salah, Ibrahim, and Hamza were amazing hosts and would dance with all of us and keep the guests engaged - please give them a raise they deserve it. Thanks again guys! Nice staff but very ugly rooms with broken beds and doors that can’t close. Uncomfortable broken beds and very dirty washrooms where shower and toilet seats are falling off. I did not feel cozy at all. Location is very good tho, inside Medina and in a calm alley. Rooftop is also very nice and it‘s full of nice travellers. However not worth the price compared to other options e.g. Dars, Riads or other Hostels.
